  • How is coaching different to therapy and counselling?
Coaching, therapy, and counselling are all forms of support that aim to help people improve their lives. They can overlap but have different approaches and are used for different purposes. It's important to understand the differences to determine which is the best fit for your specific needs. Therapy is typically used to treat mental health conditions, such as depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It involves exploring and resolving emotional, psychological, and behavioural issues. Counselling is similar to therapy, but it focuses more on providing support and guidance to help individuals deal with specific life challenges. Coaching is less focused on resolving past issues and more on supporting individuals to achieve specific goals and improve their lives in the present and future. It is more solution-focused, goal-oriented, and action-oriented and often focuses on areas such as personal growth or self-development. However, coaching still explores conscious or unconscious blockers that may be in the way, even if that means delving into the past to then move forward effectively.
  • So what about psychology-informed coaching, then?
Psychology-informed coaching combines elements of both coaching and therapy, using psychological principles and theories to inform the coaching process. This type of coaching acknowledges that an individual's behaviour, thoughts, and emotions are interrelated and that exploring and addressing these aspects can help individuals achieve their goals and make positive changes in their lives. Psychology-informed coaches may draw on techniques and strategies from therapy and counselling, such as exploring past experiences, resolving emotional and psychological obstacles, and building insight and self-awareness, but the focus remains on practical, action-oriented goals and solutions. The goal of psychology-informed coaching is to help individuals overcome barriers and achieve their desired outcomes using a holistic, strengths-based approach. Psychology-informed coaching can be effective for individuals who want to achieve specific goals and make positive changes in their lives while also addressing any underlying emotional, psychological, or behavioural issues that may be holding them back.
  • There's a lot going on right now - How do I know if now is the right time to invest in myself rather than wait?
Investing in yourself is a decision we all grapple with, and truthfully, there is no "perfect" time; there's just time and how you use it. I faced that similar dilemma myself. Despite knowing I needed support, concerns about cost and timing ("maybe it'll just pass/ get easier..." - Spoiler: It probably won't) held me back. Yet, I realized waiting wasn't serving me or my family; investing in myself was crucial for our well-being. When I finally took the leap into coaching (and counseling - they can be complementary), it transformed my life personally and professionally. I've since embraced the idea that self-investment is essential, with rewards far outweighing any initial discomfort. If timing is uncertain, reflect on how prioritizing your well-being could positively impact your life. Consider: where do you see yourself in six months? Do you envision maintaining the status quo or charting a better course for yourself and your family? Picture a fulfilling life where joy and freedom abound, all while being the mum you've always dreamed of. I've supported countless mums navigating multiple responsibilities and prioritizing everyone else's needs over their own. None of them thought, "Now is the perfect time to invest in myself." They simply reached a point of exhaustion from waiting for the "right" moment. And if you're a new mum: set yourself up for success right from the beginning. Motherhood is hard, but it doesn't have to be this hard. With the right support, you can thrive - don't wait for it to get better and look back in regret!
  • What about the costs?
Pricing depends on your needs and which plan you book. I also run regular promos and offers to make coaching accessible. Don’t hesitate to reach out, if pricing is a concern. The first call is free, and from there, we will discuss pricing options and payment plans in more detail - I don't want costs to stand in the way of your happiness and fulfillment!
  • Are online sessions as effective as face-to-face sessions?
Research has shown that online session are effective both in terms of clinical effectiveness, such as symptom reduction or increase in quality of life, and also in terms of client satisfaction and capacity for establishing a good client-coach/therapist relationship. It also lowers the barrier to access support by eliminating the need to physically attend a session. This is especially beneficial for busy mothers who may struggle to find the time or resources to attend face-to-face sessions.
  • Do you offer vouchers and gift cards?
YESS! Vouchers and gift cards can be an especially thoughtful gift to support your loved ones on their journey to a more fulfilled and thriving life as a woman and mother. Whether you are buying for your wife, your friend, a new mother, a mother-to-be or an experienced mum, I can advise you on the best options. Just reach out through the contact widget on the right hand of the screen to find out more!
  • Why do you advocate for long-term commitment while also providing one-off sessions? Isn't that contradictory?
I believe in providing support to everyone seeking assistance, regardless of their commitment level. While I emphasize the benefits of long-term coaching for deeper exploration and sustainable change, I understand that some individuals may prefer or require a more focused approach. A one-off session can be valuable for addressing specific decisions, gaining clarity on a particular issue, or having a thinking partner for a specific challenge. It's essential to recognize the difference between long-term commitment and standalone sessions and to determine which option aligns best with your needs and goals. Whether you choose ongoing guidance or a focused session, my goal remains the same: to support you on your journey towards personal growth and empowerment.
